How to Get AC Compressor to Stop Turning On & Off Repeatedly

It is natural for your car A/C compressor to cycle on and off. If it is doing so rapidly, though, it can indicate an improper charge (such as being low on R-134a refrigerant). Once the air conditioning system is properly charged, it should no longer be a problem. If the compressor turns on then instantly stops it could be either you are lacking freon or there is too much in the line. If you over charge most compressors will turn off if it notices the pressure is above a certain limit. When it gets hot outside it also causes the pressure to rise which can cause this issue. 2005 ford focus ac refill port location DISCLAIMER: In this video description contains affiliate links, which means

  1. My car runs AC and then cools off the cool air. I try to turn it off and then it starts working again. Does it contain more oil in compress .. Is the sensor bad or it has less or more gas?

  2. My mustang is doing this as I try and fill the AC. I'm scared to keep adding freon because a month ago as I filled I had a blowout (I think a relief bolt on the compressor let it all out in a cloud of freon) . I just want to make sure it doesn't blow out again.

  3. i recharged my mitsubishi eclipse and about a week later i went to turn on the ac and the light on the ac dile in my car started blinking and it made a noise like a garage air compressor would sound and it doesnt blow cold air any help would be apreciated

  4. I have a ford also and you explained exactly what mine is doing. Couldn’t figure out why it was showing overcharge until I saw your video. Makes sense now. Can instruction doesn’t apply to ford vehicles and that should be noted.

  5. I used one of them AC Pro cans. My compressor wouldnt kick in untill it had some R134. It was cold air and within a few days it went back to hot air. My compressor still kicks in. Today i checked with the gauge and i was getting the same fluctuation. I guess i have to add another can? The first time i added a can of r134 it was on the green.

  6. So I'm sittin here, just charged a/c in my Ford Ranger, and the compressor keeps kicking on and off every 5 secs. When the needle gets low it's back in the "Low" area of the gauge. Does that mean I just keep charging until when that needle drops back it should rest in the Green "Filled" area on the gauge? And will that also stop the compressor from cycling every 5 secs?! Thanks for your time!
